  • Creating a throw Blanket!

    Creating a throw Blanket,

I am using a flex mod on a plane to create a Blanket, I am drapping it over an object and I want it to fall, natrualy, But the plane seems to fall right through the chiar object. I was thinking I need to use a deflector. But how will I make it deflect the couch shape! "sorry if this is a noob question" any help is appriciated!
    Thanks

a Flex modifier does neither support collisions nor dynamics...so it shouldnt fall at all by itself

I´d suggest using reactor...create a cloth object out of the blanket and add the object to a ridgid body collection..then use the reactor utility to do the simulation.

P.S. The Manual helps a great Deal there :P

        its very simple actually:
take your plane place it above your chair or any object you want it to drop onto. Make the plane reactorCloth. Make other objects reactor rigid bodies by adding them into RB collection, add cloth to cloth collection, check in cloth options to do not self intersect, and your done. To increase accuracy/beaty you need to add divisions to your plane, 50x50 usually works fine, but you also need to increase sampling steps in cloth collection helper from 3 (default) to 30-40, then when backing animation put animation substep to 30-40 as well...should work fine. After that put meshsmooth on your cloth and it will look fab

I ran throught the Reactor cloth Tutorial... But I was wondering dose anyone else out there use reactor for cloth? you know attaching it ..making it a high poly object and added movment to it so you can get a real life folding effect....

I am trying to create a life like Valance and drap...but with no success am I getting the real look Im hunting for. I always get a box shape that looks deformed.. I even tried it with Turbo smooth... Maybe some hints or pointers to lead me in the right direction! please
              Thanks
