  • How do we save the vfb2 with the background image?

I've enabled the background save in image checkbox and am saving 32bit exr's, but the image doesnot contain the BG. What other steps are required?

    Hello,

You need to enable the "Save VFB color corrections to RGB channel" in the raw save dialog, the "Save in image" option in the background correction itself and that should be it.
Keep in mind that the background correction doesn't modify the alpha channel of the output image - so if you are checking the exr in some editor that hides pixels with zero alpha you might not see the background.

Thanks for the response. I have been using CS6 AfterFX...is there a work around? How do we extract VRay velocity from rendered exr's?

To see the background in AfterEffects, you would need to disable the alpha premultiplication (interpret footage>Ignore alpha). Regarding your other question, apply the EXtractoR effect (3D channel>EXtractoR) and select VRayVelocity from the Layers dropdown menu.
