  • vraymultisubtex for vray fur

    Hi guys,
is there any way I can control the colour of the fur with this map? Essentially I have one of those thick hair carpets and I need to select which 3 colours each hair will have.
    Thanks!

I don't think so, it does not have a per strand mode, unfortunately. What may work for your scenario is applying a VRayMtl with a tricolor ramp tex as a diffuse. Rotate the texture's V axis by 90 degrees to map it along the strands themselves.

EDIT: Actually, VRayHairInfoTex would be a better choice. It has more control.

Yeah, I forgot about hairinfotex, that one is actually great but do you know why I can't just use an extra VRayHairInfoTex in A and B to get 4 colours? I just tested it and it doesn't work, I only get first two.

Combine both mentioned methods above and it should work. Use Ramp nodes as the colors and map them sideways (rotate V).
