  • Pure White Background and MtlWrapper

    Hello guys!

I have to create a studio setup that produces an image with pure white background, and where I can still be able to get control on the shadows.
I've tried using light setups to blow the light intensity on different planes, but the best solution I've found to get pure white is to use a Vray Material Wrapper, and have the environment being driven by a VrayColor Material with RGB multiplier to 2.2.

The problem I see at the moment is that the environment is being calculated in the GI therefore affecting the shadows, and I have no way to control that influence.

Any Ideas? I'm looking to create something like this and there is no way that I can use post-production, it has to come straight from the render...

    Hi lukas_fechtig

What if you reduce or remove the 'Receive GI' option as indicated here?

Hey Nikoleta, thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately it didn't work out.
I attach here, a link with a Zip with the current scene perhaps someone can take a look.

This is maybe not the answer that you are looking for, but take a look at the studio scene here to see if you can replicate it or use it directly for your product .

You could use a distance texture on the plane.
Exclude the lights from affecting the ground.

hey M.Max thanks! these scenes are really cool to explore, unfortunately we are using an ACES workflow and as soon as I turn that on, i need to crunch the multiplier too high in order to get pure white and the problem surfaces again.
