  • VrayDirt map as ExtraTex - color of background and excluded objects

    Hi,

I'm wondering if there's a way to setup VrayDirt as VrayExtraTex render element forcing it to change the color of background and/or excluded objects to white.
In default mode those objects are rendering black, which is pretty inconvenient in postproduction and compositing, especially when you apply this render element as a layer in multiply mode (or any darkening mode).

I've attached images showing the problem (for some reason I can't add them thru forum attach buttons, I get an error).
    RGB pass: https://ibb.co/Js4gXq1
    Ambient Occlusion pass: https://ibb.co/wrmQ2Ws
Green teapots visible in rgb pass are added to 'Exclude' and 'Result affect' and they render black as well as the background.
It would be great to have them render white.

If there's no way to do that it would be great to have an additional option to set the color of objects not taking part in ambient occlusion.

    Best Regards,
    Przemek

Something that should give you the desired result is switching the black and white colors of the VRayDirt and later inverting the pass.

Thanks for the tip Aleksandar but I've tried that too and the result is somehow more noisy.
Also it's not exactly the same as original, because the gradient has got different spread, which I guess may be caused by gamma settings or color mapping.
      I'll do some more testing.
