  • problem with new website

I just got back from vacation and can't connect to the new website (www.chaosgroup.com) using the computer I normally use. it seems to forward me to a different url www.playbox.tv. I've deleted all cookies in both browsers that I use and get the same results. I can log on fine on a different computer. I've also scanned for spyware and ran a virus scan. Any ideas???

Same problem here. I don't think it's your computer, I think somethings amiss on thier end.

Glad to hear it's not just me. Strange that it only affects the machine I normally use for web browsing.

        new.chaosgroup.com points here

It looks like the server has been compromised, and www.chaosgroup.com is pointing elsewhere

Actually, it looks like it's a DNS hack, so it may not be a problem with the Chaos server(s), it also might be a problem on the part of the hosting provider. The site that is at www.playbox.tv is what's appearing at www.chaosgroup.com

Looks like someone made a typo in the DNS.... 171 vs. 170

I can now get into the site with navigator, but when I log into the forum I get an error:
              url not found
              apache server1.3.22 server at playbox-tv.com port 80

              explorer is still not working.

The playbox site is on the same server as chaosgroup.com, so it's not a hack; rather something wrong with the server configuration. I'll let Peter know about it...

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

The only problem I am experiencing now is that when opening the site for the first time on any given day, I see there are new threads and replies in different topics. So I click on image uploads, but once it opens, all posts and threads are marked as read, or that there are no new posts, whichever way you see it. (I'm using Firefox 1.04)

actually if you look here in the general section peter started an official "new website" topic and this thing about loosing the new posts on the forum after clicking on a section is listed there

                        ---------------------------------------------------
MSN addresses are not for newbies or warez users to contact the pros and bug them with
stupid questions the forum can answer.

Looks like some name-servers have not updated the changes even 4-5 days after we've changed the DNS records. So some people reach the old server even though they are not supposed to. Its a little more compilcated than that though. Anyway, let me know if anyone still reaches playbox.tv.
