  • Custom Vray material library - export all textures

    Hi,

I've created a custom material library in max (vray 5) for a clients ongoing work.
I need to periodically share the library with my client and they will need the maps that correspond to the vray materials in the library.
Is it possible to export (archive) all maps relating to library into one file?

Not directly, however, I think the "Copy Textures to the Library" option (in the V-Ray Material Library Companion) prior to loading the external Library should do the trick. If you have a lot of shaders spread in different categories, you can create a fresh 3ds max scene, apply all necessary materials to some objects and directly import this scene as a new Material Library (with the Copy Textures option active). This will create folders in the V-Ray Material Library's location with all the textures. Better yet, I think sharing this particular 3ds Max scene should suffice since the client can load it in the Library themselves.
