Will UI speed up when using interactive rendering (VRAY CPU) if I have 2 graphics cards installed?

If I have a 2080ti and a 1080gtx card installed will the UI be faster? Currently I'm using a single 1080gtx and when using interactive rendering I'm getting very slow UI.

Additionally, I have an AMD cpu and I think I have NUMA off but I'm not 100% sure. I've heard this can speed up UI quite a lot too. I'm waiting 10 seconds sometimes for the rendering interface to open...the material editor slightly less time but still very slow...and this is when I'm not using interactive rendering.

Adding a second GPU is not gonna help, 3Ds Max UI and viewport will only use one GPU, usually the one you assign in Nvidia's control panel here



If the UI is slow without using interactive rendering, this is probably a different issue..

ok. Thanks for letting me know. I think then that the slow UI is possibly something to do with the 2990wx AMD thread ripper I have.

I have seen quite a lot of people complain about this issue, with this specific CPU
Can you try excluding some cores on your interactive rendering, like 4 cores maybe.. See if this helps

Yes, I've read a lot about this as well. I installed corprio and made sure NUMA dissociater is on which I think turns NUMA off....not sure though.

I'll give this a go for the interactive rendering but one of the main problems I've had for some time now whilst using this system is that even when I'm not using interactive rendering the 3dsmax/vray UI is very slow. I'm not sure unassigning cores to 3dsmax would help in this situation.
