  • Way to set separate or ignore colour management for the Background layer in VFB2?

Is there a way to set the Background layer in the VFB2 to ignore all display correction settings and just display in srgb?

I'm trying to match lighting to a backplate photo while using an ACES workflow, but the VFB2 being set to OCIO colorspace and accompanying ACES file loaded, of course also applies that to the Background layer.
I thought just pre-adjusting the background jpg image in Photoshop to compensate would work, but not sure how to go about that.

    Any way to accomplish this?

Can you try to place the background layer on top of all the corrections in the layer order? It should work...

      Hello,

You shouldn't need to do anything. Image formats like jpeg, png etc when loaded in the background layer have their sRGB correction removed automatically.

Doesn't seem to work, the OCIO corrections still get applied to it and mess up the contrast.

I want to exclude the Background layer from this somehow, so it is always just shown the way the jpeg would be shown in Winodows/Photoshop/any other 8bit image viewer?
