  • VRay light visibility

    Hi

Is there any way of having a VRay light visible to the scene but not to the camera ?

I have glossy reflections which look alot better when the light is visible but the light then blanks out the exterior.

If I am not mistaken, you can solve your problem by using a lightcard instead of the VRaylight and turn on GI and Environment skylight. This will produce glossy reflections on the object without it being burned out.

By Lightcard, do you mean creating a plane then applying a VRayLightMtl to it?

Also, what do you mean by 'turn on GI and Evn skylight'?

Yes, by lightcard I mean a plane or thin box with VRLightMtl on it.

You turn on GI (Irmap + QMC), set Irmap to Low preset for testing purpose, then go to Environment i and turn on Override max's skylight. Ah, almost forgot, turn off Default lights in the Globals.
