  • vray blend material vs max blend matrial

The right side with max blend matrial of two transparent materials-one with red color and the other transparent without color. With a mask.
Left side is the same only with vray blend material.
I want to get the same result as on the right and unsuccessful.
    Thanks

HI roysgi. Could you please send your scene to https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Do not forget to collect and include all assets (textures, proxy models, etc.) that are used in your scene.

        Thanks for the scene, Roy.
We've noticed the misbehaviour with refraction and are currently investigating it.

I did a few tests with VRayBlendMtl and refractive materials. Below are some examples of VRayBlendMtl in different configurations and the 3ds max's Blend material

            1. VRayBlendMtl in the configuration where we have a base material and a coat material

1.1 refraction is red/blue, fog color is white (mask for coat is on the far right, red as base)

1.2 fog color is red/blue, refraction is white (mask for coat is on the far right, red as base)

              2. VRayBlendMtl in the configuration where we have empty base slot(reads as completely transparent material) and two coat layers

2.1 refraction is red/blue, fog color is white like this (mask is on the far right)

Hi of course I can, please find it attached below.
Also for your tail light project it is enough to switch positions for your coat and base material and things should start happening. If you put the white plastic below as base and on top a red coat layer with a mask it should work.
I can do it for you in your scene. I will get back to the tread as soon as possible.
