  • Memory allocation error? What am I doing wrong?

When I try to render with everything in my scene unhidden I keep getting this error:

If I hide a few of the complex object, mostly those that have refraction applied it will render fine.

This is the log if that helps:

Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this situation? thanks in advance for your help.

whats your memory useage like when this happens? have you tried the 3gb switch? Since doing that myself I never get them. ever. well okay maybe with alot of displacement sometimes. You might try converting some of your objects to vray proxies to help with memory over runs.

      Memory usage is:
      total 3.53GB
      Available 1.28GB

It seems to crash when it tries to drop below 1.28 available memory. I've been hesitant to try the 3gb switch, but I will look into it.

Look at this page (the Excessive memory usage part) in the help index:
        http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/VRay...leshooting.htm

It has a few tips how to avoid running out of memory.
