replace instances with Vray Proxy?

I have lots of instances which i would like to replace with vray proxies.i would rather not export them all as one, of each as individual, i would rather be able to convert one instance and have them all change. is this possibe?

You can make one vrmesh and use the clone and align tool to place them using the meshes as targets. Tools->Align->Clone and align
