  • Render Farm Co-Op

Hello, it's been a while since I've last posted.

My company, Epigraph, works with a group called BCP for our CPU render farm on a monthly basis. I've found this to be more cost effective than cloud farms, and it gives us the freedom and flexibility of owning our own farm without the burden of managing the physical, software, and networking infrastructures.

Ilya, BCP's founder, and I are exploring the idea of a Render Farm Co-Op. Standards and specifics are still open, as should be expected from a co-op model; these would be developed by the members. The cluster would be managed and supported by BCP.

Would anyone be interested in discussing this idea further?

What do you use for your render farm needs? Cloud, local, or something else?

I've had large and small local farms, AWS Thinkbox, and now this decentralized data center. Really curious about other studios' experiences.

    Thanks!
