  • BerconMaps compiled for Max 2023

Thanks to our colleague Nikola, here you can download BerconMaps for Max 2023 - https://github.com/Bercon/BerconMaps...ps_2023_64.dlt
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

      Hello!
There's one thing that still bugs me:
In Vray for Houdini we have all berconMaps included in the install so... why we can't have it in 3dsmax too?
It's been years berconMaps should be integrated by default in vray for 3dsmax, isn't it?

      Thanks!

        Hi Gael,

BerconMaps for 3ds Max are a 3rd party open source plugin developed by Jerry Ylilammi, while the thing in Houdini is our own standalone implementation of the plugin because the original one is only for 3ds Max.

          Hi Peter!

Thanks for the answer but then why not a rebuild for 3dsmax like you did for Houdini?

Because there is already a working solution for Max and there is no point of duplicating the same thing just for the sake of having it shipped with V-Ray.

FYI bercon/multitexture in 2023 with vray 6 GPU mode does not work properly (although the Chaos compatibility list says they do). The textures for each tile all appear the same and do not scale/fit or tile based on the random settings. Works perfectly fine in CPU/normal mode though.

Have you read the asterisk? Quoting: "V-Ray GPU supports all Bercon maps within the following limitations: Distortion map is not supported. BerconGradient Lighting, Random, Particle age, Particle speed, and Particle size types are not supported. Normal and Distance types To Object and Object Z are not supported. BerconTile UV Mapping and Randomization are not supported. BerconMapping is supported via baking." Maybe you're using one of the unsupported features.

Multitexture seems to work fine on my end. What exactly are you experiencing?

Ah my mistake, I didn't see the asterisk at all.

Not having the mapping be compatible makes the whole plugin kind of pointless, no? Does Chaos have any plans to incorporate their own tile feature in either Vray or Corona at some point btw?
