  • Sky HDRI test vray produces colored noise?

Very interesting test I did on the weekend, where I took one of the sky HDRI's and rendered a test frame with insanly high amount of subdvisions for both quasi gi and qmc sampling. My goal was to achieve sharp shadows from the hdri image, but also to see the reflective/refractive caustics and other effects. What I got instead was even more interesting. The noise in the picture I cannot really explain. But you can defenently see colored noise in the glass exectly the same as what maxwell produces...
    Very interesting imho.
    My settings where:
Quasi GI for primary and secondary, subdiv 150, bounce 50
qmc sampler noise 0.002 subdiv multiplier 4.0
    DOF.
    Lighting HDRI only.

    .

It took 17 h on 18 cpu's DR to render this frame :P

My other note is that reflective/refractive caustics are barely showing thru. And Im wondering if there can be a setting to increase gi gaustics somewhere.

P.S. scene is here if anyone wants to pick at it.
