Render to a vector Illustrator file

I'm looking to something like Illustrate that can outputs a render in a vector file format.
It seems that Illustrate is not active anymore (or I'm wrong?) so if you have something similar that could do the same it's welcome.

we often use Pencil+ from Psoft for it and it give us really good vector results.

I've seen that demo has AI/EPS export disabled so just a question:
is it able to render (as vector art) also the shadows? I've seen that some other plugins don't have this feature.
In the documentation I can't see anything about this.

hi again,

pencil only renders the outlines/strokes as vector. Toon shading it can´t
i would go a way of a higher resolution and would try illustrators tracer to convert it to vectors...

It's a "workaround" I've thought.
I'll do some tests with VrayToon, if it should work it'll be great.
