VRayRenderID showing black in EXR

Hello,
I am trying to include a VrayRenderID element into an EXR output file. Unfortunately, the element is only showing up black without separate colors.
Is there a way to fix this?
Apart from Cryptomatte, I would like to use VrayRenderID.

Hi could you explain a bit further your workflow? How do you save your output and how do you view it afterwards?

Oh, when trying to rebuild my workflow, I found out, that I have to tick the option "Colorize ID Layers" in the Photoshop EXR-IO plugin dialogue box. Anyway, thank you for your response.
