  • White translucent plastic

    Hey guys,
sorry to bother, for the work I have to do everyday I never had to do a material like this, and I can't figure out how to make it.
I'd need to make a translucent plastic, tipical of bottles, and inside I have to make it understandable that there is a blue liquid.
I can't figure out how to set up this material...can anyone help me out and pointing me in the right direction, please?

Hi for the plastic you can use the VRayMtl or the VRayFastSSS or the VRayAlSurfaceMtl.
For the liquid you could use Chaos Phoenix. This tutorial will help you create the liquid volume itself. You can also create the liquid manually using the bottle's geometry but if you tilt the bottle like in your example you have to also manually level the liquid inside it. For the liquid material you can also use VRayMtl

      Thanks for your reply.

A bit too general unfortunately, no idea about which parameter I have to twik to get some result like the bottle attached previously.
using a vraymtl I tried to give some refraction to the material...but with horrible result, and the liquid inside change looks as well.
      I don't need a simultaion for this.
      I'll post some image soon

The implementation of energy conservation for refractive materials would help immensely with this type of material.

              Hey guys,
              thanks for your reply.
Pretty much was what I was doing...but I wasn't using the volumetric options.

Sorry for the late reply and thanks again.
