  • New User Vray camera question:

Should you be able to create a Vray camera and see it in your max scene like you do a Vray light - or is it just an effect that you add at rendering? I ask because I have no option to “create a Vray camera”. I can override the settings for a Max camera in the Vray Rendering settings (set it to fish eye) and render it that way – But I have no way to compose with it from a viewport.

    Thanks for the info

Currently the Vray Camera settings are only a rendertime affect, no way to see them in the viewport.

According to Vlado, a physical camera tool is in development, which might have a viewport ability.

In the meantime, I'd suggest using a max camera like usual, and adjust the angle of view to match what you're using as the angle of view in the Vray Camera settings. That way, you'll at least get an approximation of what will be in frame, but you won't be able to see the perspective distortion affects the Vray Camera settings will cause.
