  • How to get rid of static noise

    Hi all!

Just some annoying problem - I am working on a scene where i'd like to have some undersampled grainy effects on purpose (glossy reflections with 1 Subdiv, grainy DOF) and i can't get rid of the static noise on the image plane. Thought that unchecking "Time independent" should do the trick but it doesn't. As far as i remember there once was this "lock to pixels" switch... Anyone out there experiencing the same problems and able to help? How can I force Vray to take it's QMC samples in a random manner?

    Regards,
    Michael

    What are your AA settings?

      Thanks for your reply Vlado!
I tried it with Adaptive subdivision, values ranging from -1/0 to 1/2... Should I change to Fixed Rate or Adaptive QMC?

      Regards,
      Michael

Bummer! Switching to Adaptive QMC does the trick and unchecking Time Independent works as expected - thanks a lot!
