  • Wondering what I'm doing wrong with VrayUVWRandomizer

I can see changes made to the diffuse image map in the Slate Material Editor when I make changes to the randomizer. But nothing is changing in my viewport with the material on my object. Just wondering what I'm doing wrong.

Thank you. I'm sure it's pretty complex but is there a short answer as to why it doesn't update the viewport?

        Good question.
The OSL map with similar goals shows the exact result in viewport, so it's doable, in one way or the other.
I am not sure it's efficient to show it, as the OSL map seems to bake the result the first time the viewports get updated after a parameter change.
That's -i assume- in order to then apply the baked randomised bitmap tiling within normal UV space, so to get it displayed in viewports.
However, it's all but quick, even for a small input texture and a small output size (256px / 1024px), so perhaps that may be the reason why it was elected to leave it for rendering.
        Will ask.
