So, redshift for example apparently looks more photo-real than some other renderers out the box and I'm wondering why this is? Is it the post processing in the frame buffer that contributes to this factor or something else?
I'm using photographic LUTs but from my perspective it still falls short of true photo-real. I always end up over post-processing. You'd think after 20 years of using max and vray I'd get this but I still don't. I have no process to make every image look photo-real. I realise it's a combination of models, materials/lighting and post production.
Any advice really appreciated.
