  • displaced VrayDecal on displaced surface

    Hy!

I'm trying to use a VRayDecal with displacement on a surface wich has displacemnt too.
In this case its a round manhole in a cobblestone pavement.
I can get it t work with the decal displacement added to the ground displacement or the decal displacement only - but for the later the transparent parts of the decal dont get any displacement.
How can i get this to work?

Hmm, I need to test a bit to see if this is possible at all. I'll get back to you.

EDIT: Okay, I figured out a way to do it by applying a VRayBlendMtl to the Decal. It's hard to explain, so here's the scene. For it to work properly, the pavement mapping needs to match (a triplanartex works). I'm gonna talk to the devs about this, though. I presume there could be an easier way.

That would be great. We need something like this very often and a solution would speed up our workflow immensely.

Just so you know, we've logged an improvement request for the issue (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-12420).
