  • Can someone explain pls?

Why when I use a saved IR map for a still single image the calculation phase is done again, all be it ever so slightly quicker and in one pass rather than the number it took to calculate the map the first time round.

In my mind I would expect it to wiz around the image real quick?

is that not what used to happen in previous builds?

    Hi sany

does the new passes look darker ?

if you have got glossy materials in your scene, the glossy reflections gets calculated in a comparable way (undersampling) as the gi pass.

usualy you dont see this because it gets done in the same moment as your gi pass gets rendered.

now with saved i-map, the glossys still have to be rendered, so you get glossy passes, faster as the gi calc, and darker in viewport.

look in your vray material under advanced options somewhere down in the material youll see the settings for the glossy passes comparable to the gi passes settings.

      Thanks Tom!

Is there a way of overriding all the materials in one go or will I have to do each one separately?
