could someone explain VRayMtlWrapper?

I read the vray help but I haven't understand....

its basically the same thing as the vray properties but material based so you can apply those changes to more then one object at a time... i also use it over vray properties as its a visual way to remind me that Ive made GI changes and so on to the objects the material is applied to. Does that make sense?
