  • Best Drivers for 4090?

What are the best drivers to be using with the 4090?

The version on the VRayGPU page is very old, and does not support newer cards.

Not to mention the security flaws for any card with that driver version (and in fact, most drivers). ( https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5415 )

    Joelaff Hello!

We are updating the current recommended driver to 526.98, this one is stable enough. We have been testing internally for a while
I'm aware the current recommended driver doesn't support the new GPUs, there were issues with all released drivers until 526.98
Plus we need time to test/verify stability on our side

You should see the new driver in the log and the GPU page soon

    Best,

Thanks for the update. Updated to the latest drivers yesterday, and so far so good. I was having some display issues in Max with the previous version, which was indeed 526.98 Some objects would not draw in shaded mode sometimes. I would have to click on them to make them show up.

Note I still think that 526.98 is vulnerable to all the security issues at the link above.

        Thank you for report,
I haven't seen anything odd with 3Ds Max and 526.98 drivers, I will check with the team. About the security vulnerability, 526.98 is fine as listed in the link. I will ask Nvidia as well

          Thanks for the reply.

The issue I was having was that some objects would randomly not show up at all in max. Once clicked they would then display. I have not seen this since updating, but it has only been a day or two.

            Hey Joelaff

Do you think it is related to this issue ?
I haven't seen any issues so far, we confirm 526.98 driver is good for V-Ray GPU. Myself and others in the team has been using this driver for some time now

Thanks for the info, Muhammed_Hamed I think it is indeed related to that issue, as the object do have procedurals in the bump channels (but then again about half the object in the scene do. Many of the objects were imported from Maya. So it may just be some weird bugs regarding the objects.

Anyway, so far 527.56 have been generally good. I did have one weird display issue one time (over many 18+ hour days).
