Currently, if I exit the forum and there are still some unread topics, the next time I log in all forums are marked as read. Is there a setting or a preference that I have to adjust to avoid this?

    Thanks

I think this is a short-coming of phpBB; I haven't found a way around this yet. It's quite annoying sometimes.

I usually only get this if I open two sessions of the forum at the same time. Also got it when using the shortcut to the old forum address.

I think this is a conceptional problem of phpbb, since it uses the timestamp and the last login for showing unread messages.

here are some possible solutions (haven't tested it):

I've noted on other phpbb sites that you can add a 'View Todays Posts' link to the upper right shortcuts, that tends to help.

Its pretty much a 'Search, Previous1day, *' kinda thing.

Otherwise the view posts since last visit link is a godsend if you can take the time to check every day or so
