  • Optimal VRay CPU settings for Baking?

We want to speed up our CPU baking process, and we are wondering if there's any in-depth guide on how to optimally obtain the best possible results as fast as possible. From experience, it seems like a lot of settings are not relevant to baking, so it can get confusing and turn into a trial-and-error situation.
    • What actual parameters should we change?
    • Are there a set of recommended values for baking?
    • Are there any recommended ways we can change the scene itself to allow for baking to be faster?
    • What options would be better/worse in quality or speed?
    • What sampler should we choose, bucket or progressive?
    • Are there any options not visible to the UI (i.e. accessible through script only) that would result in a speed up?

Hi, thanks for posting. Have you read this information on our docs page - https://docs.chaos.com/display/VMAX/...ing+with+V-Ray
Please check it out if you haven't and let us know if it does not answer some of your points.

      Hi, thanks for the reply!

I have read that page, yes. We already have all the lights turned off and disabled (we want a light independent baking), we already tried different values of noise and max subdivs as well, generally with good improvements, but we want to know how much else we can improve the performance without noticeably affecting the quality.
