  • the VFB layer - Background

    does it support alpha channel? I picked a map with alpha , checked 'as foreground' , its seems useless .. it's still all opaque...

    Here it works, I’m on Vray for C4D though. What saving format are you using?

        Back when I try that I’ve used quite a few formats before I was able to get it working, seems to remember I ended up using a 32bit format, tiff or exr.

          The image's alpha should not be premultiplied for this to work. In your case, the fastest way to do it is to load the image in a 3ds Max Native Bitmap, Untick Premultiplied Alpha, and Render Map. Afterward, it should work as you'd expect.
