  • denoiser and stopping a production render

just curious, if i stop a production render before it's done, i have to click the eye-ball for the denoiser in order for it to turn on and show the results. if the render finishes on it's own, the denoiser is on. is that for any reason? I'm using GPU rendering. thanks.

The denoiser is updated only from time to time so when you abort the render in most cases it does not contain the latest image - so we turn it off. If you let the renderer finish - we explicitly recalculate the denoiser after rendering is stopped so it contains the latest data and is safe to show.
