  • VrayMultiSubTex working with BerconTile.

I try to get VrayMultiSubTex working with BerconTile.
Which parameter do I have to enter in the "By user ID" so that bercon tile scatters the textures?
I know that you can use MultiTexture to achieve this, but I try where possible to avoid thirdparty plugins and only stay by the plugins from the vray package.
Unfortunately, Multiscatter does not support tx textures nor VrayBitmap.

Maybe someone who knows programming will see it immediately when looking at the source files on github.
Could someone please help here ?

Lele, am I on the right track ?

    Kind regards

Sorry to say, this won't work with VRayMultiSubTex, since it needs special randomizing by the generated BerconTiles. There is a solution, however. You can use the MultiTexture plugin, which is supported by BerconTiles (and vice versa). The texture itself has a Randomize by BerconTile option. For it to work, the BerconTiles "Randomize by MultiTexture and BerconGradient" option must be checked. Tested it and it works as expected. Check screencap.

Otherwise, I'll speak to the project manager. Maybe we could implement support for VRayMultiSubTex and BerconTiles as well.

EDIT: Just so you know, I've logged the Random by Tile as an improvement request (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-13286).

I'm also in favor of adding this feature.
Great for creating walls and floors in architectural visualization.

Sorry to bump this old thread but, as I'm still on Vray 5 and I'd like to create a "randomly pick some texture from a MultiSubTex and put each of them inside a tile" like first request.
I've checked both Vray 6 manual and Vray 5 but it seems that it's not possible without CgSource Multitexture or/and BerconTile plugins.
                Am I wrong?

Was this feature developed as dimitar_panayotov ?

I'd like to avoid to add plugins that I don't know if they'll be available in a near future.

                thanks in advance

Hi. Yes, the feature is included in V-Ray 6.2 and the latest.
You will still need Bercon tiles, but you will not need Multitexture.
In BerconTiles MultiTexture option has to be active to work with MultiSubTex.
