  • Using (default) VrayProxy in ForestPack is slower/ uses more RAM than regular mesh?

I was reading over on the iToo Forums and I noticed this thread: https://forum.itoosoft.com/forest-pr...nd-forestpack/

I just want to spark the conversation here, as I didn't do any testing yet. Is there anything that can be done on Chaos' side to "fix" this problem? The prescribed solution is too cumbersome. Maybe a proxy file can store multiple different voxels? Or maybe we can choose somewhere depending on the use case? Better yet, if V-Ray detects it being used x times then change the number of voxels automatically?

Hi, thanks for posting. Please use the "Optimize for instancing" check box (on by default) when creating your proxies:

In the future we will work on finding a better solution to the issue.

Ah so the OP in question didn't have that option enabled when creating the proxies?
