  • Is there a standalone command line that can load images using vfb

    HI,

Is there a standalone command line that can load images using vfb?
Or is there a standalone VFB layer beautification tool? I want to use different layers to add some color correction and adjust the appearance of the image as needed

    Advice would be grateful.
    Thank you

Hi, could you please share a bit more about this idea? What exactly would you like to achieve as a result? Why would you like to load images through a command line?
    Thank you,

      HI,
      Thanks for replying!

I want to use area tile rendering to improve rendering efficiency, and after rendering, I stitch the two images together, but during my testing, I found that glare will cause the two images to produce seams during the final processing and cannot be stitched, so I wondered if I could stitch the pictures first and then beautify the VFB images.

So, is there a way to invoke the vfb tool separately using the command line?

      Advice would be grateful.
      Thank you

Hi, why do you need to render the image in regions to improve efficiency?
In general, if you have rendered a 32bit image (EXR or vrimg) you could bring the image back in VFB without a loss of information (File-> load image, in VFB window) and you could add post-render effects such as Glare later on. You could save these effects separately as .vfbl file if you have them already. The .vfbl can be loaded and applied on top of your image. So it's not necessary to save your images initially with baked post-render effects in the RGB channel.
        Thank you,
        Dimitar

The VFB does have a batch processing option to apply effects to an existing image sequence.

It would be even better if it could do so from the command line. Why? So we could easily set it up as another dependent job in Deadline in order to automatically process it as the frames get rendered and end up with the desired results in one render setup (of a couple dependent jobs).

HI, I can do this in manual mode (File>load image, in VFB window), but I want to batch automatically process a series of images and beautify them after the VFB window has been closed, so I want a command line to do it. Is there a way to do this? Advice would be grateful. Thank you JING

Hi, you could automatically batch the images already through the VFB by using: File ->Batch image processing. You will need a .vfbl file as well.
We will take into consideration both of your suggestions and we will see how to integrate this feature in the best way.

Imagine the ability to pass a few command line arguments to, say vray.exe (Standalone) and apply a .vbl to a sequence of images. This would indeed be nice.
