Water Drops

This is the problem. The water on the lid is flowing, and the client wants puddles. The dripping part is good, but they want the flowing part to look more like the dripping part. Looking at some passes, I might be able to do something with those in post. In the second image, they want a lot more black openings. I tried using a niose map to control it, but it didn't seem to understand. I might be able to boost the effect with the third image.
