  • MultiSubTex Bug

Hello, everyone. What I want to do is to randomly distribute the "by Elements" contained in an object. The important thing is that it is the only object. But it's not working right. "Corona Renderer" what works so well doesn't happen here. can you help me?

Oddly, it seems to work if you set it to thin-walled.
EDIT: Alternatively, you 'could' set it to by face id and use a material by element modifier to distribute the colours that way.

HI, thanks for positing. It works on my end. What versions of 3ds Max and V-Ray are you using.

The important thing is that it is the only object.
What do you mean? If all these spheres are part of a single mesh and you have set your VRayMultisubTex to random by element it should work.

Max 24 and latest Vray scene attached....doesn't work apart from when thin walled as far as I can see.

You are correct, I was testing the diffuse initially. We actually have this bug reported previously under VMAX-2850. I will add this thread to the list and raise the priority.

Yeah I guessed that you may have the diffuse on too, as I tried that during investigation.
It does work if, as mentioned in my earlier post, you add a material by element mod and set the multisub to act on the dropdown face id option.
So not totally impossible to achieve the end result....depends on what the OP wanted to achieve specifically I guess
