  • sparkles/flakes without changing the base material

    Hi everyone,
trying to add sparkles to a sugar shader.
I did the sss aspect first, then tried vrayflakes/vrayflakes2/vraystochasticflakes shader to add flakes on top of the sss shader.

Unfortunately I didn't find a way that didn't involve darkening a lot the base sss material.
Is there a way to add just the shiny flakes on top of the base material? Should I use a noise mask or similar?

    Hi, thanks for posting.

Are you using a VRayBlendMtl material?
Could you send us a screengrab of your material set-up or the scene?

      I'm using a vrayblendMTL, yes.
Will create a scene I can share asap

Update: on the test scene, everything works perfectly. Blend material, stochasticflakes material masked with a fresnel map.
I'll try again on the main scene.
