    Hey guys,
how do you composite GI color on matte surfaces in after effects? All shadows in matte alpha come as gray.

In nuke you just do over and it carries all color info

See attachement. So far I've been hacking it by using separate render elements and overlaying inverted alpha element (which is rgba when using separate elemnts option)

But I've always wondered what is the correct way to composite this in AE

I guess it's a matter of how you mask the image. I simply used the EXtractoR node (I exported a .exr, what image are you using?) on the image on top of a solid and it seems identical to the VFB. What method of masking are you using?
