  • Half underwater

    Hi,

    Simple question :

What's the best approach for creating a scene half underwater ?
I need caustics, fog and of course, I will have to put an object which will be under and above water....

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rikou,

You need additional faces for the underwater-to-above-water transition to work. To achieve this, you can create extra geometry (for example, a box) and use it as the Cutter Geom in the liquid simulator. For more details, please check the Whale Jump tutorial - Create a Box for Cutter Geom: https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4MAX/Whale+Jump

As for the caustic effect, you can check out the Pool example scene and learn from its settings. https://docs.chaos.com/display/PHX4MAX/Example+Scenes

        Hello hammer_chen,

        Thank you for your advice
I don't have access to Phoenix and the project is done now, so after a lot of tinkering I had to find my own solutions.
Anyway, thanks for the interesting information!
