I came across this and think it's pretty useful for speeding up downloads as it makes your links automatically mirrored. It's called 'The Coral Content Distribution Network.'

Basically, you append '.nyud.net:8090' to any inline URL, image, movie, file, etc... Your file then gets mirrored so heavy bandwidth is reduced. This could be very useful for large animations. It also makes files very fast to download!
