licencing issues

i have searched the forum and havn't found any reference to an issue quite like this one. ive emailed support but havnt gotten a response, so any help is appreciated. i had my it guy forward port 30303 to the computer running the vrlserver, but when i connect remotely with vrlserver running and also without max running on any machine besides the remote one, i get a message saying that all copies of vray are in use and to turn off one running copy or try again later. does anyone have experience with this? also to note: vray runs on the local machine without vrlserver running. seems odd, since the install instructions explicitly states that it must be running in order to authorize.
