  • MAX7 folder shared?

The problem seems to be I cannot DR using maps under my MAX7 folder, even if i am using universal file naming ("\\server\c\program files\.......")

I checked, and none of my slave is actually able to get into that folder, "access denied"....C: is shared, of course, but when I try to share MAX7 folder, Windows tells me it cannot be done because the folder is in use by the system....

Do you guys share your MAX7 licensed folder accross your renderfarm?
Or you simply use a shared location for your maps?

    Thank you again

    regards,

    gio

PS: Also, did you know that if you try to DR a MAX scene not-named yet, it will ask you to "save as" after you hit render? fascinating....

This is an issue with 3dsmax that we have not been able to get around; in DR mode the scene needs to be saved to disk, so that it can be transferred to the render slaves - this means it has to have some name.
