  • LightMix w/o Built-in Frame Buffer

    Greetings,

Due to limitations in our render farm, I am forced to bypass the built-in frame buffer and render .exr files directly through the 3DS Max render configuration. All of the render elements are intact except for VrayLightingMix. When I open the .exr file in Photoshop or After Effects there is only one layer/element that is solid black. Is there a way to get the individual light information back into the .exr files? Thanks.

Sorry to say, you can't. Rather than disabling the V-Ray Frame Buffer altogether, have you tried disabling the "Memory frame buffer" instead? This way the VFB is still used, however, it won't show up.
