  • .vrscene instead of references

    Hi guys,

We're just looking at adjusting our workflow on large housing schemes where there are many housetypes, all with various material variations etc. We're trying to use a .vrscene instead of using the 3DS max references for a number of reasons but I was just wondering if things such as the displacement modifier are recognised/exported in a .vrscene?

So if one of the houses had brick or tiles that required displacement - is this possible?

    Many thanks in advance.

[edit] We have just tested it and it doesn't appear to support displacement. Is there a way around this, or something that could be implemented fairly easily?

Hi, thanks for posting. VRayDisplacementMod modifier is exported in vrscene. There has to be something else in the scene that prevents the displacement from working and exporting properly. We can't say much more than this without looking into the scene. Please share your scene for review if you can't manage to troubleshoot it on your own.

Thanks for the swift reply Vladimir...

It turns out the problem exists between the chair and the keyboard. I had displacement turned off. D'oh!
