I'm having a VERY strange issue that I've never seen before and I've been using V-Ray since version 3 came out. I've got a scene with 5 tyflows, all being rendered in V-Ray CPU using Phoenix Foam particle shader set to points mode. There's a few lights, a camera, and that's it. My framebuffer shows a full frame rendered. But when I import the EXR into Nuke or Resolve, only a quarter of the frame is there and not even all of the particles are rendered. I've tried rendering both completely locally and using distributed rendering. And the weirdest part is, like I said, the VFB shows a correct full frame, but actual EXR is incorrect. I've attached a couple of screenshots to show what I'm seeing, as well as the Max file. I'm using Max 2025.2, V-Ray 6 Update 2.1, and TyFlow 1.117. Interestingly, if I use the manual save button on a single frame in the VFB, that saved file looks fine.

You have forgotten to include the tyCaches in the zip. Otherwise, what does the frame look like in ChaosPlayer (make sure you set Alpha Mode to Ignore, so that it isn't applied)?Last edited by hermit.crab; 26-08-2024, 01:18 AM.

I can upload the tycaches, but I figured since they're large that if you needed them you could just recalculate them on your end. Alternatively, rendering from the tyflow itself provides the same result. I opened the sequence in chaos player with the same results, most of the frame is clipped off. You'll also notice that in the rendered sequence, the depth is not complete either. It's as if only a portion of the particles are being saved. Notice how you can see the black spheres which are the lights in the saved file, as compared to the EXR.
