  • Curvature map

Working with the "new" curvature map, I have a couple things I am wondering about:

First, why is not the greyscale output of "convex" and "concave" the same as the channels in the "both"?

what is the connection between "sample spread" and "size" should these be the same? I could do some tests, but would like to have a better understading of the technical connection (I have read the "manual"..

Rendering curvature with vraydisplacement also is serious slow - I had a render go from 1 hour to over 3.. Rendering with a heavy tesselated mesh, and standard displacement render more or less the same as without..

      Hi, thanks for posting.

You could select the channel you need as if it was grayscale you have no control. Also you could easily turn it into grayscale from the coloured map but the other way around is not possible.

I can't find a "size" setting but here is the difference between radius and sample spread:

It is not unusual for the render time to increase dramatically with displacement. Please send us an example scene for that so we can make a better judgement.
