    Ok, can someone explain to me how does that work? I always though you have selected mesh, click on it and it will add vray light mesh modifier to it. Nope. Now in vray 7 it's greyed out for me.

    Also, please, why can't you remove that modifier once it's added? I know you can extract mesh but it would be so much easier to just remove it.

    It's greyed out when there's no suitable object is selected. Is this not the case on your end?

    Because it is not a modifier, although it looks like one. The VRayMeshLight transforms the object into a VRayLight object.

      Ah yeah, I often have 2d splines that I either extrude or apply edit mesh to and it's greyed out for those objects. Guess it sees them as 2d. It works on "real" 3d objects.
