  • Chaos Scatter with lights and Lightmix?

    Hi,

We are currently scattering vray lights and wanted to see if you could tune them in lightmix. As far as I can tell this isn't possible, it this correct?

If so, is there a trick to get them to become visible in lightmix?

We're using Max2023 and the latest vray 6 version (whatever that is).

They are controllable, but not individually - only as instances of the source light. If you wish for individual control, you can always convert the ChaosScatter to geo (Convert to Max geometry button) and set the scatter Group By to "Individual lights". Note that the current LightSelect limit is 64, so selects above that will be empty.

Thanks for the quick response. I realized my mistake when reading it.

I had turned the source lights off as they aren't being "used" in the actual scene (placed somewhere outside of the boundary). But that made them invisible in the lightmix. Turn them on and the light instances as back again. I didn't need individual control, just that the 3 lights in this case would be visible in lightmix. But good to know the process to make them individual if ever needed.
