Question about DR

I am wondering how DR works with file transfer.

We have a 10 blade renderfarm. 001 has Backburner Manager and server and the rest just have server

When we submit a job do the files get uploaded from the Desktop machine to all the blades or are they sent to the manager then distributed

The reason why I ask is the Blade to Blade communication is much much faster than the Desktop to Blade communication

I have some really large files that would benefit from Blade to Blade vs Desktop to Blade

If you are sending a DR job (Scene that has distributed rendering on) from your Desktop to 001, then 001 will become the Master (the machine that will open 3ds Max and render), and it will do the file transferring (if they don't share a network location) to the Slaves. The best practice is obviously to use a shared network to which every machine has access.
