Hey Vlado,
Ok, so I've been sitting here thinking, "What's taking so long for 1.5?" I mean, I look in the bug reports forum and see very little happening. There's even a statement that says that there are no bugs in Vray at this time. Great! So... How come we're still waiting for 1.5? And how come you keep adding new features to the list every time I turn around. I mean, I don't mind that... Well, actually I do! I mind that a year ago you said that 1.5's feature list was locked down and still we saw additions to Vray throughout the public beta releases. And now I see that what we are waiting for are things that should be held off for a possible 2.0. Think about it. Vray 1.5 has been in development for over 3 years now. It's time to call end end to that.
I'm very grateful that you saw fit to let us have it before it was done. I think that was a great idea. But common now, It's done already! Just release it as is and move on to 2.0. Are you waiting till the next batch of features is perfect? because I can assure you that you will find something else to stick in there before that happens.
One of the issues that I run into every now and then is that my boss really doesn't like using beta software in production. I keep telling him that 1.5 will be out any day now but I know that's not true. It's not really a big deal or anything, It's just starting to get a little annoying that's all.
And finally, If you release 1.5 now, it sort of puts you in the clear to take a little time off or maybe work on the other projects. Right?
Thanks for all your hard work Vlado. You deserve all the praise you get and more,
